Description:
Evander Childs High School is a 93-year-old NYS Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) building located in the Olinville section of the Bronx. In 2007 Adam’s European Contracting Inc. began an exterior modernization, which at the time, was among the largest undertakings in the history of the NYC School Construction Authority. The scope of work included replacement of over 1M bricks, 12K pieces of terra cotta, and limestone pilasters throughout; foundation waterproofing; and installation of several types of roofing systems totaling more than 90K sf. The project was successfully completed in September 2009 with minimal impact on students, faculty and the surrounding community. |
